INSPIRATIONAL TEACHING QUOTE

 

We are, each in our own way, teachers, and deserving, I suppose of an inspirational teaching quote or two.

But there is a very special group of people -- those who care enough to devote their lives to inspiring and teaching others.

Wouldn't it be lovely if we could package an inspirational teaching quote and put it into the hands of each of every teacher?  Something just to say, "Thank you.  Thank you for making me a better person."

I remember a wonderful line from the play "A Man for All Seasons", the story of Sir Thomas More.  In this scene, young Richard Rich is asking for a job from Sir Thomas (a well-paying job, no doubt).  The line reads:

Sir Thomas More:  Be a teacher, Richard.  You would be a good teacher. Perhaps a great one.

Richard:  And if I were, who would know it?

Sir Thomas More:  You, you students, God.  Not a bad public, that.

Not a bad public at all.  So, here for our wonderful teachers, an inspirational teaching quote or two.
