It's the truly great who are remembered for a famous inspirational sports quote.  Muhammad Ali.  Vince Lombardi.  Yogi Berra.  Even a total non-sports person like me recognizes these names, and even respects them.

As we might expect, there's a definite emphasis on winning, but more than one famous inspirational sports quote focuses on building character.  I'm particularly fond of Tiger Woods' contribution here, but then I just basically like Tiger Woods anyway.

I am so glad that Tiger Woods and Michelle Kwan are here to be the heroes to the younger generation -- and to our older generation as well.  Both athletes so completely exemplify the mastery of their sport, and the mastery of being good human beings.  That's no small task.  If they had not created a famous inspirational sports quote on their own, I think I would have invented one, just so they could be represented here.
